Estate Tuscany is proud to announce the latest achievement from The Mill Restaurant. Congratulations to Angela Campbell, and her sensational team, being awarded a Hat from the AGFG (Australian Good Food Guide) – Award Winner 2020. This award holds the highest accolade in our industry within Australia.

Each year, The Australian Good Food Guide’s Chef Hats are awarded to discerning Chefs around Australia (see: AGFG History). These awards are the result of careful deliberation. Inspectors appointed by AGFG dine anonymously. Their reviews and the votes of the dining public, who generously send in their comments throughout the year, determine these results.

“Food and wine is a way of life; creating a menu with locally sourced produce and wines delivering Hunter Valley provincial dining. My philosophy for the food and beverage operation has never to want a Hat, rather we do what we do to offer our guests a dining experience that is authentic, with consistency of food and beverage served with passion. ESTATE TUSCANY RECEIVES TOP GONG AT RESTAURANT INDUSTRY AWARDS

Caterer of the Year 2016

Estate Tuscany, located in Pokolbin Hunter Valley, won the major awards of ‘Caterer of the Year’ and ‘Wedding Caterer’ in the NSW Regional Catering Awards at the 2016 NSW Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence on Monday 12 September at a gala awards night in Sydney.

Ms Kirsty Woods, General Manager and member of Restaurant & Catering Australia (R&CA) said, “We are so elated to be recognised amongst our peers in the industry. We take so much pride in what we do, love looking after our customers and believe people make a place. Our people make our product and make this recognition possible. I would like to applaud Lauren Wilde, our Food and Beverage Manager, Emilio Llausas, our Executive Chef, Kate Mercer, our Events Manager and each and every person who contributes to delivering the quality product that is Estate Tuscany.”

Mr Bill Gregson, Tuscany Director long-time Hunter Tourism and Hospitality operator, said of the NSW R&CA Awards for Excellence ”these awards are a recognition from the industry of just what it takes to create a dedicated team who really care about the outcomes. We want our customers to know that from the first phone call to the final goodbye, we are there to provide the very best hospitality we can. These awards say that we have achieved our goal.”

Mr Gregson went on to say, “Peer review assessment is always important and winning two categories within the Regional NSW Restaurant and Catering framework helps to confirm to our owners, managers and the team, that what we are doing is right on track.  We are particularly proud of this enormous outcome as we operate a small, close knit and dedicated team. I would like to congratulate all the winners of these awards for contributing to the delivery of excellence in the NSW hospitality industry.”

More than 900 local restaurants, cafes and catering businesses gathered to celebrate the achievements of their peers who were judged across 75 categories, with the winners announced at the Awards for Excellence ceremony held at Luna Park, Sydney on Monday night.

The Awards for Excellence is a nationally recognised, independently judged awards program that celebrates exceptional service and culinary talent across Australia. The Awards for Excellence is the only program in Australia where the judging criteria is determined by consumers who rank what is important to them in the dining experience.

The Awards are judged by an independent team of trained judges who anonymously visit the venues to determine the winners. The scores are based on the entire dining experience from the quality of the catering to the customer service experienced during the judging.

R&CA CEO John Hart says, “Estate Tuscany should be proud of their achievements. Running a hospitality business isn’t easy – there’s a lot of blood sweat and tears that goes into to making it work. But when you get the right mix of staff, produce and service, the results can be extraordinary.” 

Estate Tuscany may compete with other region finalists at the National Savour Australia Restaurant & Catering Hostplus Awards for Excellence to be held at Four Points Sheraton, Darling Harbour in Sydney on Monday 24th October 2016. Finalists will be advised of their status by 26 September.
